The United States has some of the worst maternal health outcomes in the developed world. And the outcomes are even worse for birthing people of color - specifically Black and Indigenous people.

My home state of Minnesota, in particular, is one of the worst states in the entire country for racial disparities in healthcare, education, income, housing and more.
